The Zubizuri, also known as ‘Campo Volantin Bridge’ and ‘Puente del Campo Volantín’ is an arched footbridge bridge in Bilbao, Spain. The bridge was opened in 1997 and is known for its unusual architectural style with a curved walkway and steel suspension cables connecting to an overhead arch. The bridge’s architecture has its fans and its critics but it serves a purpose of linking up two parts of the city.
Getting there
The closest train station to the bridge is ‘Matiko-Bilbao’. The closest tram stop is ‘Uribitarte’ on the 7 line. If travelling by car, there is a parking garage a short walk away at ‘Pio Baroja’.
