ZEALANDIA Ecosanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary situated in Wellington, New Zealand. The sanctuary was created in 1999, it was the first urban fenced ecosanctuary. The ecosanctuary covers around 550 acres of land. It is a protected natural area that was built to protect and increase certain aspects of nature in Wellington such as plants and different mammals. The project has been fairly successful and has been replicated in different parts of the country.
The ecosanctuary is situated to the west of the city centre. The 25 bus travels close to the ecosanctuary.
Opening Times and Admission
You can visit the ecosanctuary daily, 9am-5pm. Admission is set at 19.50$ for adults and 10$ for children with under 5s entering for free. Guided tours are also available at the ecosanctuary for an extra fee.
