General Information
Winchester Cathedral is a Church of England cathedral that is situated in the English city of Winchester. The cathedral is an impressive building that was built in the 10th century and improved on in the centuries that followed. It has a mixture of Norman and Gothic architectural styles. It is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe with a length of 170 metres. It’s illuminated Winchester Bible, 12th-century wall paintings, medieval carvings and contemporary art are notable points at the cathedral.
Getting there
The cathedral is situated in the city centre, it is a 5-10 minute walk away from ‘Winchester’ train station.
Opening Times and Admission
The cathedral is open to the public daily. Tours of the cathedral cost £8.50 for adults, £6.50 for seniors, £5 for students and tours are free for children.
