General Information

Willis Tower (Sears Tower) is a skyscraper in the city of Chicago, USA. The skyscraper was opened in 1973 and stands at a height of 442 metres. It was designed by architect Fazlur Rahman Khan and is the second tallest building in the USA. The skyscraper is mainly used as office space with some well-known companies using the building as their headquarters. The building has an observation deck at its top which provides stunning elevated views over Chicago and beyond.

Getting there

The closest train station to the tower is ‘Union’ station. The closest metro stop is ‘Quincy’ which is a short walk away. The 1, 7, 28 and 126 buses all stop close to the skyscraper.

Opening Times and Admission

The observation deck at the tower is open daily. In the summer months (March to September), the observation deck is open Sunday to Friday 9am-10pm and Saturday 8.30am-12pm. In the winter months (October to February), the observation deck is open daily 10am-8pm.

Enjoyable views over the city from the observation deck of this skyscraper, out over chicago and a far. Best to go on a clear day, we went when the whether was poor and visibility could have been further or so we was told. Was still a breathtaking view.
