Werribee Open Range Zoo is a zoo that is situated in Werribee which is 20 miles south west of Melbourne, in Australia. The zoo covers 560 acres of land, most of which surrounds the Werribee River. The zoo is an open range, its animals all originated in Africa and the zoo is African themed. The zoo has safari tours that drive through the land, giving visitors a look at the animals that include Zebras, Giraffes, Camels, Lions, Cheetahs and much more. The zoo also has a learning centre that teaches people about the animals and their habitats.
If you are travelling to the zoo by car, there is onsite parking available to visitors. If you are using public transport, the only way to get to the zoo is by getting the train to Werribee and then getting on the 439 bus from the station to the zoo.
Opening Times and Admission
The zoo is open seven days a week, 9am-5pm. The safari tours run multiple times during the day and last around 45 minutes. Tickets cost 37$ for adults, 28$ for concessions and children (4-15yrs old) are charged 19$ during the week but are allowed access for free on weekends and holidays.
