Wellington Zoo is a zoo situated in Wellington, New Zealand. It is New Zealand's oldest zoo having opened in 1906. The zoo covers around 32 acres of land. Over 100 species are represented by over 500 animals. The zoo is committed to educating people on animals, bringing people and the animals closer together. Some animals in the zoo’s care include monkeys, giraffes, grassland cats and much more. The zoo plays its part in worldwide conservation projects.
The zoo is situated to the south of the city centre. You can get there by taking the 23 or 23e buses that stop at the zoo.
Opening Times and Admission
The zoo is open daily, 9.30am-5pm. Admission is set at 25$ for adults and 12$ for children.
