Wellington Museum is a museum situated in the city of Wellington, New Zealand. The museum was established in 1972, it is housed in the historic Bond Store. The museum is dedicated to the city of Wellington. It tells its story across its four floors with exhibits on its maritime history, Maori and European settlements and much more. As well as exhibits showing various items the museum also uses theatres showing videos on the history of Wellington to get its point over to visitors. The museum has been recognised as one of the best in the world and is the place to go to learn about the city.
The museum is situated near the harbour. It is a five-minute walk away from the city's train station. The 1, 2, 3, 7 and 14 buses stop a short walk away.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open to visitors daily, 10am-5pm. Admission is free. The museum has an onsite restaurant.
