Vērmanes Garden is a public garden in Riga, Latvia. The picturesque garden is the oldest of its kind in Latvia, it covers 5 hectares. The garden dates back to 1814, although it really became close to what it is today in 1881 when it was expanded. The expansion allowed for the planting of more exotic trees and plants, a lot of which you still see today.
The garden is located in the centre of Riga near the Brīvības bulvāris. Riga is a fairly small city so walking to the garden should be considered, it is situated close to the freedom monument. There is a bus stop close to the garden that is accessible by the 3, 6, 9, 216, 246 or 248 buses. Riga train station is a five-minute walk away.
Opening Times and Admission
The garden is open 24 hours of the day daily, access is unrestricted.
