Universal Studios Japan is a theme park situated in Osaka, Japan. The theme park is owned by USJ Co.Ltd which is owned by NBC Universal. The theme park is similar to the other Universal franchise theme parks across the world with rides and attractions based on the history of the film company Universal. The park was opened in 2001 and covers 51 acres of land. The park attracts millions of visitors every year with themed areas that are based on such film series as Harry Potter and Shrek. The park offers a fun-filled day for all of the family.
Transport links to the park are very good. By train, head for ‘Universal City Station’ on the JR Yumesaki Line. Buses run to the park from the airports and also from the city. You can also get to the theme park by boarding a ferry at Osaka Aquarium, a return ticket will set you back 1300yen.
Opening Times and Admission
The opening hours of the park varies depending on the time of the year, it usually operates on the hours of 9am-7pm daily but it is advised to check the website before you travel. Admission to the theme park is set at 7,900yen for adults, 7,100yen for seniors and 5,400yen for children(under 12).
