Toronto Eaton Centre is a popular multipurpose complex in Toronto, Canada. The complex is mainly a shopping centre and office complex. The first phase of the centre was built and opened in 1977, it is currently owned by Cadillac Fairview and is the home of the busiest shopping mall in North America. It contains different buildings that have been built at different stages since 1977 and serves different purposes, the main shopping mall is 4 storeys high and the Hudson building mainly used for office space is 36 storeys high. The complex is a big part of life for many in Toronto, the complex has created thousands of jobs and is an area people go to for retail and entertainment purposes.
The reason that the centre is so popular is mainly down to the fantastic transport links. If travelling by car, there is parking available at the complex. If using public transport it is advised to use the local metro system, with the number 1 line stopping at the closest stop to the centre, ‘Queen’. The 301, 501 and 502 buses also stop outside the centre.
Opening Times and Admission
The centre is open daily, weekdays 10am-9.30pm and on Saturday 9.30am-9.30pm and Sundays 10am-7pm. Parts of the complex are free to enter, such as the shopping mall and other areas are restricted such as the offices.
