General Information

Holding the title of the tallest tower in the world is the Tokyo Skytree which is situated in Tokyo, Japan. The tower stands at a height of 634 metres(2,080ft), it is the second largest structure in the world. The tower was completed on the 29th February 2012 and opened in May 2012, it was built to a Neo-futuristic style and is said to resemble a tripod in its design. The tower is mainly used for television and radio broadcasting but also has an observation deck and restaurant that are popular with sightseers.

Getting there

The best way to get to the tower is by using the train network with the closest station being ‘Tokyo Skytree’.

Opening Times and Admission

Most of the skytree is restricted to television and radio but there are two observation decks open to the public. You can buy tickets to either or both, a ticket to both observation decks one of which is on floor 350 and the other on 450, costs 4000Yen. Tickets to just one of the decks are much cheaper with concession prices available. The restaurant is on floor 345, it is advised to book a reservation in advance.

Wow. Some view from the top observation deck and reasonably priced. Only issue was the queues.
