Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, also referred to commonly as ‘Tocho’ is the headquarters of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government situated in Tokyo, Japan. The building was opened in 1991 and is said to have been built to resemble a computer chip with two towers rising from the main building that take it up to 48 stories in height. The building is used by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government which governs the whole of Tokyo and neighbouring villages but it also has observation decks at the top of both towers which are open to the public.
The best way to visit the building is by getting a train to ‘Shinjuku’ Station which is accessed by most train lines that pass through the city.
Opening Times and Admission
Most of the building is restricted to the public due to the importance of the business involved in its offices. But the observation decks at the top of the towers of the building are open from 9.30am-11pm.
