The Birmingham Science Museum formerly known as ‘Thinktank’ is a museum dedicated to Science situated in Birmingham, England. The museum was opened on its current site in 2001 after being open for many years beforehand in different locations. The museums collection are based mainly around transport and the science behind them, one of its most notable displays is that of the ‘Spitfire’ aircraft.
You can travel to the museum by car or by public transport. By car, head for Digbeth which is just a few minutes out of the city centre, the museum is signposted; the museum has plenty of parking close by in a multi-story carpark. By bus, take the 14, 55 or 94 from the city centre. By train, the nearest station is ‘Moor Street’ which is a 10 minute walk away.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open from 9am-5pm seven days a week. You have to pay to enter the museum and prices are set at £13.50 for adults and £10 for children. Normal museum rules apply and the museum holds a right to search any bags entering the museum.
