The national museum of New Zealand is the aptly named Museum of New Zealand that is situated in Wellington, New Zealand. The museum was established in a purpose-built building in 1998 after the merger of the National Museum and the National Art Gallery. The building it is housed in was designed by Jasmax Architects. The museum focuses on New Zealand and the people of New Zealand and their history.
The museum is situated on the waterfront. It is a 10-15 minute walk away from the city's train station. The 14 and 24 buses stop close to the museum.
