Tempozan Ferris Wheel is a Ferris wheel ride situated in Osaka, Japan. On opening in 1997, it was the biggest Ferris wheel in the world but has since been surpassed. The Ferris wheel has a height of 112 metres and a diameter of 100 metres. The Ferris wheels 60 pods act as observation decks and the whole ride lasts around 17 minutes, offering people elevated views of Osaka Bay, Mount Ikoma and Rokko Mountains. The wheel is lit up at night with lights that give people the weather forecast for the next day, blue lights indicate rain, green lights indicate clouds and orange lights indicate sunshine.
The Ferris wheel is situated close to Osaka Aquarium. You can get there by using the subway system, the closest station to the wheel is ‘Osakako’ Station on the Chuo Line. If travelling to the wheel by car, there are plenty of parking lots in the area.
Opening Times and Admission
The Ferris wheel ride runs from 10am-10pm daily with the last admission set for 9.30pm. The wheel is only open in good weather conditions. General admission to the wheel is set at 800yen. The Ferris Wheel is accessible to wheelchair users.
