The only zoo in the whole of Estonia is Tallinn Zoo in Tallinn. The zoo was established in 1939, it covers around 220 acres of land. It is home to over 13,000 animals that represent 548 species. The Zoo is represented by the Lynx, which was the first animal at the zoo having been won as a prize by Estonians in the Marksmen World Championships. Other animals that call the zoo home include elephants, camels, chimpanzees and much more.
The zoo is situated west of the city centre. You can get to the zoo by taking the 42 bus from the city centre.
Opening Times and Admission
The zoo is open daily. In the summer months 9am-6pm; in spring and autumn 9am-5pm and in winter 9am-3pm. In the colder months admission is set at 5 euros for adults and 3 euros for concessions. In the warmer months admission is set at 8 euros for adults and 5 euros for concessions.
