The oldest museum in Wales is the Swansea Museum that is situated in the city of Swansea. It is mainly housed in a Grade II purpose built Neoclassical building that was completed in 1841 but has some of its collection on show in three other locations. The museum displays a variety of exhibits that are based on subjects that include local history and transportation. Its collection includes historic maritime vessels and fine Swansea porcelain.
If travelling by car, there is a large car park close by at the leisure centre. The museum is a 5-10 minute walk away from ‘Swansea Train Station.
Opening Times and Admission
The Swansea Museum is open six days a week, Tuesday to Sunday 10am-5pm. Admission to the museum is free.
