General Information
Storkyrkan known also as Sankt Nikolai kyrka (Church of St. Nicholas) and formally known as Stockholm Cathedral is a cathedral church in the Gamla Stan area of the Swedish Capital, Stockholm. The church is a fine example of Brick Gothic architecture. The church was founded in the 13th century.
Getting there
The church is situated in the Gamla Stan area of Stockholm. By train, get off at ‘Gamla Stan’ station stop and walk 5 minutes through the Old Town to the church. You can also get Buses to Slottsbacken or Riddarhustorget which are a 5-minute walk (via street Storkyrkobrinken).
Opening Times and Admission
The church is open from 9am-5pm, with a bilingual morning prayer at 9 am. Visitors to the church for sightseeing purposes are charged 60SEK for a look around the church. Guided tours are also available upon request.
