The Statue of King Alfred the Great is a statue of King Alfred that is situated in Winchester, England. It is one of the city’s most notable landmarks. The statue of a heroic Alfred was designed by Hamo Thornycroft, and erected in 1899 to mark one thousand years since Alfred's death. It stands at a height of around 17 feet from top to bottom.
The statue is situated in the city centre. It is a 10-minute walk away from Winchester’s main train station.
