The State Hermitage Museum is a museum of art and culture in St Petersburg, Russia. The museum is situated in a few buildings across St Petersburg with the main one being the Winter Palace. The museum has been open to the public since 1852. Its collection is highly impressive both in terms of the number of items (3 million) and in terms of items in the collection. The museum's art collection is rich with paintings and antiques, it is well worth the time of any art lover.
The museum is situated at Winter Palace on the river bank in the city. The 1, 7, 10, 11, 24 and 191 buses all stop close to the palace at ‘Dvortsovaya Square’. The metro also stops close by at ‘Admiralteyskaya’.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open to visitors six days of the week. Tuesday to Sunday 10.30am-6pm except for Wednesdays when it is open till 9pm. Admission is set at 700Rbl.
