SS Rotterdam (The Grande Dame) is a former ocean liner and cruise ship that is now a hotel ship/museum situated in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The ship was launched in 1958 and retired in 2000. The ship is considered as the last “ship of state” built in the Netherlands, employing the finest artisans from the Netherlands in her construction and fitting out process. The ship has a length of 228 metres and it was known as operating a two-class service for its paying customers.
The ship is situated in the Katendrecht Harbour area of Rotterdam. Take the D or E metro lines to ‘Rijnhaven’ which is a short walk away from the ship.
Opening Times and Admission
The ship mainly operates as a hotel but tours of the ship are available for visitors. Tours run daily with the last tour at 3 pm. Tours cost around 20 euros per person.
