General Information
Slovak National Theatre is a theatre in the city of Bratislava, Slovakia. The theatre is now considered to be the Old National Theatre after a new building was built but it still hosts a major part of the city's shows. The theatre was built in the 1880s and is a Neo-Renaissance building built to the designs of Viennese architects Fellner & Helmer. It has a capacity of 1000. Formerly it held opera, ballet and drama shows but since the new theatre was built it only hosts opera and ballet. The old theatre is a place filled with stage history.
Getting there
The theatre is situated in the city centre. Take the tram to ‘Safarikovo nam’ which is close by, the 1 and 3 trams stop there.
