Shambles Market is a long-standing market area in the city of York, England. The market includes over 85 stalls mainly owned by locals selling fresh produce, arts and crafts and other goodies. The market has long been a vibrant, social area of York that's allowed small businesses to flourish. The museum has recently undergone a renovation allowing for a better experience for both traders and shoppers.

Getting there

The market is situated in the city centre, at the Shambles area. The closest train station is ‘York Station’ which is a short walk. The Market is also a short walk away from the main bus terminal of the city.

Opening Times and Admission

The market is free to enter for visitors. The market is open seven days a week opening at 7 am daily for trading, although some stalls still operate a 9am-5pm schedule. The market now has an eating area for shoppers to sit down and eat at the market.
