General Information
The Settlement Exhibition is an exhibition in Reykjavik, Iceland. It was created by the Reykjavik City Museum. It is based on archaeological finds in the city with a focus on the finds of an excavation of the first house of the city of Reykjavik. The house dates back to the 10th century, items on show include turf pieces which made up the walls of the house. The exhibition is interesting as it displays the first known settlement in the area.
Getting there
The exhibition is located in the city centre. You can get there on foot or by taking the bus to ‘Raohusio’, the 1, 3, 6, 11, 12, 13 and 14 buses stop there.
Opening Times and Admission
The exhibition is open daily 10am-6pm. Admission for adults is set at 1700 ISK, children and seniors enter for free.
