General Information

Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium is a Southern Ocean and Antarctic aquarium in Melbourne, Australia. The aquarium was opened in 2000, it is owned by Merlin Entertainments. The building the aquarium is housed in was designed by Peddle Thorp architects and resembles a ship moored to the river. The aquarium has over 10000 sea life animals that cover around 550 species, which live in the Southern and Antarctic oceans. The aquarium runs a few different conservation projects on various endangered sea life. The aquarium is a sight in the city of Melbourne where you can be educated on different species of sea life and sea environments.

Getting there

Sea Life Melbourne is a 5-10 minute walk from the major transport hub, ‘Flinders St’ railway station. By tram, take the 58 to ‘Queens St Bridge’. By bus, take the 35, 70 or 75 to the aquariums bus stop.

Opening Times and Admission

The aquarium is open seven days a week, 10am-5.30pm on weekdays and 9.30am-6pm on weekends. Admission to the aquarium costs 33.60$ for adults with concession rates also available.
