The Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca is a basilica in Bologna, Italy. The basilica is situated on a hill that overlooks the city. A church of some kind has always thought to have existed on the hill, but the present church was not constructed till 1723 and was completed in 1757. It was built to a style that fits with Bologna tradition.
The church is situated on a hill to the south of the city centre of Bologna. It is around a 20-30 minute walk from the centre. The 58 bus travels to the church from the city centre.
Opening Times and Admission
The basilica is open daily, 9am-7pm but it does close for two hours at 12.30pm till 2.30pm. Entrance to the basilica is free.
