Royal Ontario Museum is a museum that specialises in art, world culture and natural history, it is situated in Toronto, Canada. The museum was established on 16 April 1912 and opened on 19 March 1914, it is one of the largest museums in North America and the largest in Canada. The building that houses the museum is built to an impressive Neo-Romanesque style. The building houses more than six million items and forty galleries. The museum displays dinosaur collections, minerals and meteorites, fine art from around the globe and it also has the largest collection of fossils from Burgess Shale.
The museum has its own metro stop on line 1, named ‘Museum’. If travelling by car, there are local car parks available at the museum or the local university next to the museum.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open everyday 10am-5.30pm. Admission to the museum is set at 20$ for adults, 16.50$ for students and 14$ for children and infants enter for free. Guided tours are available but come with at an extra cost.
