General Information
The Riverside museum situated at Pointhouse Quay in Glasgow opened in June 2011. The museum is dedicated to displaying objects related to transport. The museum is home to 3000 objects that display the city of Glasgow’s maritime past to its present. The build of the museum started in 2007 and its architectural design was created by Zaha Hadid. It has large displays of vintage cars, bicycles, boats and other transport methods, such as prams and skateboards.
Getting there
The museum is accessible by bus from the city to its harbourside location, the 100 city bus is the service that runs to the museum. Other transport options are available by ferry, subway or bicycle.
Opening Times and Admission
The Museum attracts its fair share of visitors and in 2013 was awarded the European Museum of the Year award. Entry to the museum is free.
