Prokurative known as the Republic Square is a large square in the Croatian city of Split. The square was built in the 19th century and its buildings are similar to those in Venice, that the architects were inspired by when they built the Neo-Renaissance buildings that surround three sides of the square. The southern side of the square is open and provides a view of the harbour. The square is relatively quiet in the winter months but it is used for concerts and cultural events in the summer months.
The square is situated close to the harbourfront and is within walking distance from most of the city.
Opening Times and Admission
The square is a public square so is open to the public most days of the years only closing for event preparation and events.
