Planty Park is a park in the Polish city of Krakow. The park is unusual in that it was built in place of the former city walls which had fallen to ruin. Because it was built in place of the former city walls it stretches around the city’s Old Town in a loop. It has a total area of around 5.2 acres and a length of two and a half miles. It forms a walkway that is popular with locals and tourists, it is said the park is a chain of 30 gardens of different styles with fountains, ponds and monuments.
The park is situated in a loop around the Old Town area of Krakow. The park is a short way away from ‘Krakow Glowny’, which is the main transport hub of the city.
