The museum opened in 1877 and focuses on the work of 16th-century printers Christophe Plantin and Jane Moretus. The museum is located in the former residence of the two printers and the printing establishment, the Plantin Press. Some notable items in the collection are the ‘Biblia Polyglotta’ which is a five language bible from the 16th century and the ‘Thesaurus Teutoniae Linguae’ by Cornelis Kiliaan.
The museum is situated in the city centre. The 4 tram stops at ‘Antwerpen Groenplaats’ which is close to the museum; as do the 22, 180, 181, 182 and 183 buses.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open six days of the week, Tuesday to Sunday 10am-5pm. Tickets for the museum cost 8 euros for adults and 6 euros for concessions.
