General Information
The main city square of the French city of Lyon is the Place Bellecour. The square covers 16 acres of land, it is one of the largest in Europe. The square's centerpiece is an equestrian statue of King Louis XIV. The square also has another statue and a couple of pavilions. The square, which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site is completely pedestrianised and is a meeting point for locals and tourists in the city.
Getting there
If travelling by car, there is a parking lot very close to the square called ‘Parking Indigo’. The square is also accessible by the underground system of the city, head for ‘Bellecour’ station on the A and B lines.
Opening Times and Admission
The square is a public square, it is completely free to visit and is open at all hours.
