General Information

Placa Reial (‘Royal Plaza’) is a square in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona, Spain. The square dates back to the 19th century and was designed by Francesc Daniel Molina I Casamajo. The square is situated just off La Rambla, so is quite a busy area of the city at most hours of the day. The plaza has a large number of restaurants and bars/nightclubs. It is also used to host concerts and new year's celebrations. Mostly it acts as a popular meeting place for locals.

Getting there

The square, which is situated just of La Rambla is accessible by the city’s metro system with line 3’s ‘Liceu’ Station close by. Alternatively, the 14, 59 and 91 buses run close to the square.

Opening Times and Admission

The square is a public square so is open at all hours every day throughout the year.
