The Piazza della Signoria is a public square in Florence, Italy. The L shaped square sits in front of the Palazzo Vecchio. The square is seen as the main point of origin and history of the Florentine Republic and is the political focus of the city. It is a meeting place for locals and tourists with some of the city's sights including buildings and statues situated on the square or close by.

Getting there

The square is a 10-minute walk away from the central transport hub of Florence. You can get a bus to a stop close by if walking is not for you, the C2 bus stops at numerous stops which are a minute or so walk away from the square.

The square is a public square, it is free to enter at any time of the day.

Cool square

Rated:

Nice square with statues and dominant buildings. We visited on the weekend and the square was always busy with people socialising.
