Peterhof Palace is a series of Palaces and Gardens situated in St Petersburg, Russia. They were built on the orders of Peter the Great in the early 18th century, he was said to have been inspired by a visit to the Palace of Versailles in France. The palaces were built to an elegant Baroque style that was complemented by the garden designs. The palaces are highly impressive and the gardens are all well kept and quite picturesque with fountains and cascades.
The palace is situated in the Peterhof area of St Petersburg which is west of the city centre. You can get there by taking the 200, 210, 348, 355 or 356 buses. The best option is to take the train from St Petersburg city centre to the Peterhof stop which is a short walk away from the palace.
Opening Times and Admission
The palace and gardens are open to visitors daily, 9am-7pm except for Saturdays when the palace and gardens are open till 10 pm. Admission is set at 1000Rbl.
