Perth Zoo is a 41-acre Zoo in Perth, Sydney. The Zoo was opened on 17 October 1898 by the Governor of Western Australia, Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Gerard Smith. The Zoo is thought to have over 1200 animals of 164 species in its care. The animals are kept in themed areas that suit their habitats. The zoo has a conservation project, that is run by paid staff and volunteers.
The zoo is situated just off ‘Route 2’. The 30, 31 and 34 buses all run close to the Zoo. ‘Elizabeth Quay’ train station is situated a 10-minute walk away from the zoo.
Opening Times and Admission
The zoo is open daily, 9am-5pm. Admission prices are set at 31$ for adults and 15$ for children.
