Parque da Independência (Independence Park) is a park situated in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The park was created in 1989 to commemorate the Cry for Independence on the spot by D. Pedro I, it is seen as a part of Brazil’s cultural history. The park is well landscaped and is mostly open lawned areas with a perimeter of trees. The park houses the Ipiranga Museum, the Monument to Independence and the Casa do Grito.
The park is situated in the Ipiranga area of São Paulo. The easiest way to get there is by taking a train to ‘Ipiranga’ station which is situated a short walk away from the park. Some bus routes also stop close to the park.

The park is open from early till late daily and is free to visit.
