General Information

Palace Square is the main square in the city of St Petersburg in Russia. The square is situated in front of Winter Palace. It is a large open pedestrianised area. The square is used for events in the city which includes military parades and festival events. It is also used as a meeting place in the city by tourists and locals. The focal point of the square is Alexander Column.

Getting there

The square is situated in front of the Winter Palace in the city. The 1, 7, 10, 11, 24 and 191 buses all stop close to the square. The metro also stops close by at ‘Admiralteyskaya’.

Opening Times and Admission

The square is a public square, it is free to visit at any hour of any day.
