Palace of Culture and Science is a multipurpose building in the Polish capital city, Warsaw. The building was opened in 1955 and designed by Lev Rudnev to a Socialist Realism architecture style. It is the tallest building in Poland standing at 237 metres in height. The building is used for various different things such as office space for various companies and public institutions. Its main purpose is a cultural centre, with it hosting concerts, sports clubs, theatres, scientific institutions and libraries.
The building is situated within the city centre. Public transport links to the building are good. By metro, take the M1 or M2 metro to the ‘Świętokrzyska’ stop. By tram, take the 1, 4, 15, 25, 35 or 70 trams which all stop outside of the building.
Opening Times and Admission
The best way to visit the building is by attending an event but you can still visit otherwise, the building has a 30th-floor terrace where you can enjoy views of the city.
