One Tree Hill is a hill in Auckland, New Zealand. The hill is known for the spectacular views it provides from its peak, it gives stunning views out over most of Auckland including both harbours. The hill was formed by volcanic activity that is thought to have occurred over 20,000 years ago. The hill got its name due to one tree standing at its summit. Currently, there is an obelisk at the hill’s summit which is a memorial to Maori.
The hill is situated in the One Tree Hill area of Auckland which is to the south of the city centre. The 30, 298 and N10 buses all stop within walking distance of the hill.
Opening Times and Admission
You can climb up the hill at any hour of any day for free, it is a public space.
