General Information

Norsk Folkemuseum (Norwegian Museum of Cultural History) is a cultural history museum situated in the city of Oslo, Norway. The museum was established in 1894 and has an extensive collection of artefacts from all social groups and all regions of the country. The museum also has an open-air section with more than 150 buildings that include houses and churches relocated from areas of the country to give people an insight into the different cultures of the country.

Getting there

The museum is situated in the Bygdøy area of Oslo. If travelling by car, there is onsite parking available to visitors. By bus, take the 30 or N30 buses that travel from the city centre and stop outside of the museum.

Opening Times and Admission

The museum is open daily, in the summer months (May to September) 10am-6pm and in the winter months (October to April) it is open on weekdays 11am-3pm and weekends 11am-4pm. Admission to the museum is set at 130NOK for adults, 100NOK for pensioners and students and 40NOK for children.
