The New England Aquarium is an aquarium and entertainment complex in Boston, USA. The aquarium opened in 1969 and has 800 species in its tanks with over 20,000 animals in total. The aquarium has continually expanded its tanks since its opening in 1969 and they contain sea life from many parts of the world. The aquarium is also home to a whale watch and an IMAX cinema.
If travelling by car, there are plenty of local car parks/garages close to the sight. If travelling by Subway, the closest subway stop is just 100 yards away, this is the ‘Aquarium’ stop on the blue subway line; alternatively, you could get off at the ‘State’ stop on the orange line which is a 10 minute walk away.
Opening Times and Admission
The aquarium is open seven days a week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday to Sunday 9am-6pm. Between July to August both closing times are extended by an hour with the aquarium closing at 6 pm on weekdays and 7 pm on weekends. Adult admission to the aquarium is set at around 28$ with child prices set at 19$, tickets can be purchased in advance online.
