The National Museum of American History is a museum that collects, preserves, and displays the heritage of the United States in the areas of social, political, cultural, scientific, and military history, it is situated in Washington, USA. The museum was established in 1964, it was designed by architectural firm McKim Mead & White and it has recently undergone an extensive renovation that has enhanced the museum and made it a more enjoyable experience for visitors.
The museum is situated on the National Mall in Washington. Street parking and car parks around the museum are very limited. The best way to travel to the museum is by public transport. The Museum is near Metrorail(subway) stops on the blue, orange and silver lines. The closest Metrorail stop is at ‘Smithsonian Station’.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open everyday 10am-5.30pm and admission to the museum is free. The museum has a cafe and shops on site.
