The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop) is a museum in Seattle, USA, that is dedicated to Contemporary Pop Culture. The museum was established in 2000 by Paul Allen as the Experience Music Project. The museum is located in a purpose built building that was designed by Frank Gehry to his usual sheet metal style. The museum displays various exhibits on pop culture ranging from the founding days to the present day. As well as exhibits the museum also runs various projects such as the Battle of the Bands and other such events to discover local undiscovered artists and to bring together the Pop Culture community.
The museum is situated at the Seattle Center complex. If travelling by car, the closest parking lot is at ‘Key Park Northwest Inc’. If travelling by monorail, depart the monorail at the ‘Seattle Center’ stop. If travelling by bus, the 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 13, 15, 17, 18, 19 and 24 all stop close by.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open daily, 10am-5pm. Admission is set at 36$ for adults, 31$ for seniors and students, 25$ for youths and free for children. If you book online you will receive a discount on those prices.
