General Information
The Museum of Art and Cultural History (Museum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte or MKK) is an art and cultural history museum situated in Dortmund, Germany. The museum was founded in 1883, it is currently housed in a beautiful Art Deco building that was formerly the Dortmund Savings Bank. The museum's collection includes paintings, sculptures, furniture and applied art that all relate to the cultural history of Dortmund; its collection stretches from the early ages to the 20th century.
Getting there
The museum is situated in the city centre of Dortmund. It is a short walk away from the main transport hub ‘Dortmund Hbf’, which is served by trains, the S-Bahn and the U-Bahn.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open six days of the week, Tuesday to Sunday 10am-5pm except for Thursdays when the museum closes at 8 pm and Saturdays when the museum opens later at 12 pm. Admission is set at 5 euros for adults and 2 euros for children.
