General Information
Monument aux Girondins is a monument situated in the Place des Quinconces in Bordeaux, France. The monument is a fountain monument it commemorates the Girondists who were influential in the French Revolution but were executed after they started to oppose the motion. The monument, which was built in the 20th century depicts the Statue of Liberty standing atop of a large pillar, which is flanked by two pools containing spectacular statues.
Getting there
The monument is situated in the Place Des Quinconces square in the city. If travelling by car, head for the ‘Parking Tourny’ car park which is a short walk away from the square. The B tram stops at ‘Quinconces’ which is in close proximity to the monument. The 2, 3, 6, 26 and 29 buses also stop close to the monument.

The monument is situated on a public square. You can visit it at any time of any day for free.
