Metelkova is a cultural centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The centre is an area which was formerly used as the headquarters of the military but was taken over by squatters in 1993 after being abandoned. Since then it has become an area of culture with its buildings being decorated by artists and being occupied by local youth organisations. It is now a vibrant area of local youth culture with it being the place for music events and having many modern bars.
It is situated in the city centre of the city just by the main train station. The 2, 9, 12, 25 and 27 buses all stop in the area.
Opening Times and Admission
The culture centre is an area that is a public area and people are free to visit at any hour of any day although most of its buildings have opening schedules.
