Mercado Central de Atarazanas (Atarazanas Market) is a market in the Spanish city of Malaga. The markets origins date back to the 19th century when the market was built on its current location to replace a previous building of which only the horseshoe entrance that you see today remains of the old building. The market is a great place to experience trade in the city of Malaga. The market has many stalls that sell an array of fresh food amongst other items. Getting there
The market is a 5-10 minute walk away from the main train station in the city. You can also get there by bus with the 1, 37 and C2 stopping at ‘Alameda Principal’ which is a short walk away from the market.
Opening Times and Admission
The market is known as the half-day market, it is only open from 8am-2pm Monday to Saturday. Entry to the market is free to all.
