General Information

Mariinsky Theatre is a theatre situated in St Petersburg, Russia. The theatre opened in 1860, it was designed by Alberto Cavos. It is now steeped in history with many opera and ballet shows having been performed within its walls. The exterior of the theatre is grand and the interior is luxurious with a large seating area with tiered boxes rising above. The theatre is the home of the Mariinsky Theatre, Ballet and Orchestra groups.

Getting there

The theatre is situated in the city centre. The 3 tram stops a few minutes walk away at ‘Nikol'skaya Square’. The 2, 3, 27 and 50 buses all stop outside of the theatre.

The best way to see the theatre is by attending a show. Shows are listed on the theatre's website and tickets can be bought from there or at the theatre's box office.
