Manila Ocean Park is one of the newest attractions in the city of Manila, Philippines. It is an oceanarium that opened in 2008. It is owned by the China Oceanis Philippines Inc. The oceanarium is situated in a purpose-built building that sits on pillars over a beachfront area in the city. The sizable oceanarium houses over 14,000 sea creatures of around 280 different species, sharks and stingrays are species popular with visitors. The oceanarium's water was taken from Manila Bay. A tunnel was built into the tanks at the oceanarium, it allows visitors to walk through the tanks and see the sea life swim above them. The oceanarium runs educational programmes for young and old.
The oceanarium is situated in the Rizal Park area. The 2 bus route stops close by. The closest stop on the city’s tram system is ‘United Nations’ which is a 10-minute walk away.
Opening Times and Admission
On weekdays, the oceanarium is open to the public 10am-6pm. On weekends, the oceanarium is open to the public 9am-6pm. The oceanarium offers different ticket packages that range from 500-950PHP.
